The University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET) was established by the University of Jammu in 2017 as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ to provide quality education in Engineering & Technology. The First Academic Session for B.Tech. programme in UIET started in 2017 under the centrally sponsored Rashtriya Uchchattar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) with two streams in Engineering i.e. (i) Civil Engineering (C.E.) and (ii) Computer Science Engineering (C.S.E.) with an intake of 60 in each stream.
At present, UIET is located at Janglote, Kathua which is about 2 km North-West from NH-1A while proceeding from Kathua to Lakhanpur. The Institute enjoys the locational advantage for students due to its connectivity with adjacent states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
The building for UIET is located at Janglote, in the Kathua Campus, University of Jammu providing all world class amenities of modern laboratories, workshop, classrooms & seminars hall facilities. The Institute is equipped with a spacious Library housing a broad spectrum of National/International Journals in addition to around 1000 text books along with internet facilities. The infrastructure includes Hostel facility, a Health Centre and a Canteen. The University campus offers excellent environment for the overall personality development of the students.
