The Department of English at Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, was established in 2022 under the framework of NEP 2020 with the objective of offering quality academic programmes aimed at equipping students to excel and succeed in the contemporary global landscape. Admissions are conducted based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) score as a key parameter in the selection process. The Department has a total intake capacity of 30 students per batch, including reserved category seats.
Guided by its mission, the Department focuses on fostering students’ reading and writing skills, while also nurturing critical thinking, analytical abilities, and a profound appreciation for diverse cultures
and ideologies. Additionally, the Department is continually enhancing its infrastructure, encompassing space, hardware, software, communication systems, and manpower, to support its academic and
developmental goals.
